Yas Island is a man-made island and one of Abu Dhabi’s most iconic attractions. Located towards the eastern side of the capital, it serves as an entertainment and leisure hub, drawing visitors worldwide with its thrilling attractions, luxury hotels, and diverse events. Named after the Bani Yas tribe, who lived in the area centuries ago, Yas Island is a well-planned community offering a wealth of amenities comparable to any major community in Dubai. Designed for both comfort and recreation, the island features private nurseries and schools, playgrounds, fitness centers, walking paths, cycling trails, and gardens. Yas Island is home to world-renowned attractions, including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the first Ferrari-themed park; Yas Waterworld, a top-tier water park; and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, a theme park celebrating Warner Bros. characters. The island is also known for its high-class sports facilities, such as the Yas Marina Circuit, which hosts Formula 1 races, and premium golf courses for enthusiasts. Yas Mall, one of the region’s largest shopping destinations, offers a vast selection of stores, dining spots, and entertainment options.
The island has a range of housing, from luxury options to more affordable choices, making it ideal for a variety of lifestyles and budgets. By 2030, it’s projected to accommodate up to 100,000 residents. While entertainment venues are complete, the island’s master developer, Aldar, is currently developing additional residential properties. With proximity to the airport (just 13 minutes by car) and the E11 highway passing through, Yas Island offers quick access to Dubai. The island’s rapid development and new projects continue to solidify its status as a leading destination for tourism and leisure in the Middle East.
